Communit-academia collaboration for Local Production and Conservation: Cultivating Futures Through Partnerships Between Agriculture and Universitia
SFC aims to achieve the Carbon Neutrality by 2030. Northern Fujisawa is an agricultural area; thus, for SFC to attain carbon neutrality, it is desirable to introduce community-benefiting renewable energy in collaboration with local agriculture. Although this region faces sustainability challenges typical of peri-urban areas such as the fragmentation of farmland and a shortage of successors, many students from the campus are already actively engaged in various local activities. In this project, three forms of collaboration(1) energy, (2) food, and (3) human resourcesas are positioned as new pillars of integration bridging the region and the Campus. This research aims to address local challenges while exploring new value inherent in the presence of a university campus.
