ORF EXHIBITION

Making AI Accountable: Evidence, Review and Organisational Learning

In this research group, students explore topics from the history, culture and politics of Germany and wider Europe to AI governance. This exhibition presents one student's independent research on how AI accountability principles are put into practice through organisational rules, responsibilities and procedures, with a particular focus on Japan. It examines the connections between evidence supporting decisions about AI development and use, authority to review and change those decisions, and procedures through which affected people can raise concerns and request a review. It also explores the conditions needed for these concerns and insights from review to support organisational learning and improvements in AI governance beyond responses to individual cases.
