The Industrious City
Under the theme 'The Industrious City', Hiromi Hosoya Laboratory at Keio University SFC explores architectural practices that cut across spatial and systemic domains. In a small city of 30,000 in Kanagawa Prefecture, research on so-called 1000-year villages has revealed how the strength of land and human relationships underpin long-term sustainability. In collaboration with IIT Roorkee in India, the lab conducts research and develops prototypes addressing temporary living environments for migrant construction workers. This exhibition envisions the roles architecture and environmental design can play across diverse contexts.
