MIYAMOTO DAISUKE Lab
In the Miyamoto Daisuke Laboratory, our research centers on three primary themes: (1) sociolinguistic approaches to the Chinese language, (2) the development of Chinese language teaching materials, and (3) interlanguage pragmatics in contact situations. Sociolinguistics is a field of study that seeks to explain language in relation to society. At present, members of the seminar are engaged in diverse projects, including research on interlanguage in Sino-Japanese contact situations, minority language policy in China, issues concerning the Manchu language in the International Linguistics Olympiad, errors in the use of reduplicated classifiers in modern Chinese, and the development of a web application for learning Chinese.
