Development of tactile teaching materials
Our laboratory is currently developing teaching materials related to learning by touch. For visually impaired people, hearing and tactile sensing are important sources of information, and in recent years, there has been a growing interest in the development of teaching materials that can be learned by tactile sensing. We believe that the characteristics of objects that can only be noticed by tactile sensing are also useful for people without visual impairments. We are leveraging our expertise in 3D printing to develop tactile learning materials, specifically focusing on creating educational tools for bird observation. We would like to share the results of this work.
