Japan is home to a linguistically and culturally diverse population, and coexistence and constant efforts to achieve it are becoming increasingly important. The Sugihara Lab, whose theme is Multilingual /Multicultural and the Japanese Language, and the SFC Japanese Language Lab will present an interactive exhibition that asks what we as individuals can do to help Japanese society become more inclusive, and indicates a step closer to home. We will look ahead to the future of society through dialogue with visitors on issues such as the refusal of foreign nationals to sign rental housing contracts, multicultural workshops, the use of 'simple Japanese', and learning support for children with foreign roots.
