W3C, which continues to make the web essential and easy to use for everyone, has published more than 13,123 specifications from its first year of existence in 1994 to 2024: from 23,500 websites and 45 million users in 1995 to 2 billion websites and 5.4 billion users by April 2024. Web technologies are now literally taking root in the hands of every single person, and the W3C will continue to discuss and implement technologies to further ensure people's rights, accessibility, internationalization, security and privacy and to contribute to various social activities.
