Karadakan and Tsuruoka Metabolomic Cohort Study are working together with citizens to create healthy community in Tsuruoka City. By integrating elements of both science and art while creating learning opportunities for residents to proactively and joyfully address their own health and wellbeing, we aim to improve individual health literacy, establish healthy behaviors, create healthy communities, and foster social capital. The epidemiological research including metabolome analysis is the foundation of our activities, which generates new knowledge about prevention and returns the results to the residents.
