Applied Art in Geometry

At the Narukawa lab, we utilize three-dimensional geometry as a creative tool. Our approach is to pose engineering challenges and resolve them geometrically, resulting in aesthetically pleasing designs. We collaborate with partners both within and outside the university, as well as with businesses, to engage in production activities and projects. This year, we have undertaken projects related to tensegrity structures, tables, photographic pieces, graphic designs, trash bins, playground equipment, dome tents, and chairs. We are excited to present the outcomes of several of these projects in collaboration with five other research labs.
