A methodology for exploring contemporary architecture from anonymous/spontaneous/ vernacular architecture

At Erika Laboratory, which was launched in 2023, we are practicing design through three-dimensional fieldwork while making maximum use of models to see how local communities appear as objects and landscapes.In addition to the model of the ongoing project to repair the courtyard of an anonymous private house, which is related to the problem of vacant houses in local cities, research on the alleys of Tsukishima in Tokyo and the Matsubara shopping district in Yokohama as reference cases where the local community has been materialized. A model will also be displayed.
